March 30-April 13, 2008
After the Second World War the Korean peninsula was divided into the North and South. During the Korean War (1950 – 1953) the US army allied itself with South Korea to defend it from communist North Korea, who had the support of the Chinese. In the last decade South Korea has become more democratic.
Since 1953 South Korea has been transformed from a poor war-torn nation into the 11th largest economy in the world.
As a nation South Korea has no ethnic diversity – 99.8% of the population are Korean.
~ The Korean church is absolutely passionate about prayer – since 1984 the number of churches has doubled from 30,000 to 60,000.
~ Korea sends out over 10,000 missionaries around the world – the second highest number of missionaries sent by any country.
~ The growth of Christianity has been amazing – in every level of society.
~ South and North Korea are technically still at war. Pray that Korea’s leaders will be to make wise decisions about what is best for the whole of Korea.
~ Pray for unity within and between the churches of Korea. Pray for humility and a new spirit of cooperation to be evident in every part of the Church.
~ Pray for the large number of people who are training to enter ministry. Pray for these men and women to humbly commit themselves to God's call, wherever that may be.
~ Pray for servant-hearted leaders who pursue God and his kingdom above all other things.
~ Pray that Korean Christians would not lose their amazing passion for prayer!

Last Fortnight
March 2008
Since March is the first month we will present a nation to AICF for
prayer, there was no specific nation in February. If you wish to
pray specifically for a nation, you can pray for your home nation, or
choose one from the Operation World website.
Next Fortnight
April 13-27, 2008
As South Korea's closest neighbor, geographically and historically, and
because the future of South Korea is heavily dependant on North Korea,
which is facing political crisis, we will pray for North Korea in May.
